Life-teen update (04--1-2007)

or those of you who are amongst the number of souls who go to either the Saturday evening Mass or the Sunday morning Mass and then run out to your car and read the bulletin in hopes of getting a sneak peek at what we will be doing this week, today is your lucky day. Not only am I going to give you a sneak peek, but I am also going to invite you to join us. This week I had originally planned on continuing or discussion on relationships. After some careful and closed consideration with the core team (hooray! alliteration is back), we decided instead to have a SPRING BREAK KICKOFF EXTRAVOGANZA! Ok, so maybe my use of all caps in that particular instance might have been a bit over board. But maybe not. When you read it you have to imagine the voice from a car commercial shouting it over out over a pa system. You know, something like SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! This Sunday only right here at St. Joe’s in Wenatchee Washington we will be hosting the event of the season… (voice building in intensity) A SPRING BREAK KICKOFF EXTRAVOGANZA! One night only after the Life-teen Mass. Come and make the memories that will last you the rest of your lifetime, or at least the rest of the week. In all seriousness we spent quite a while coming up with some games that I think most of you will enjoy, and no you do not have to be athletic to play them and have fun. You just need to be willing to give your all. That is about all I am going to give you for a sneak peek, but I guarantee it has the potential to be more fun than a sack of hammers. I am also trying to work it out so that we will have some pizza there to help counter some of those after Mass hunger pains that occasionally crop up.
For those of you who are into baseball and want to join a fantasy league (or for those of you who aren’t into baseball but are saying what the heck I’ll give it a shot) I have set one up on Yahoo. The league name is League of Saints and the password is Piergiorgio. It should be a lot of fun and I encourage anyone who is interested to join up with us. For those of you unfamiliar with fantasy sports, it is where you pick a team of real major league players and their stats in the real life games affect your team’s stats against whomever you are playing for the week. I personally find it to be a lot of fun.
Anyone looking for a little spring break fun time is welcome to come out and join me Wednesday at the Frisbee/disc golf course at Rotary Park over on Western. Make sure you bring your own Frisbee of disc golf equipment if you have any. If you don’t and still want to play come anyway and I am sure we will be able to scrounge something up from the back of either my car or some one else’s. The games will commence at 1:00 in the afternoon. I hope to see some of you there.
