Life-teen update (06-10-2007)

Greetings once again Life-teen fans. Things seem to be kicking into full gear for the summer and we are not even half way through June. With all the various activities, sports, vacations, and what not that are going on over the next three months I want to remind all of you to continue to make time for prayer in your daily lives and be sure to attend Mass on Sunday. For those of you who are hanging around and looking for a little something extra to keep you energized I have a couple things in mind that you might find enjoyable. First off I am in serious need of some new volunteers to help me out with music for the Life-teen Mass. John is taking the summer off and it is up to us to step and make sure that we have music to praise our Lord during Mass. Please let me know if you are interested in serving the Lord and his Church in this way. The second thing that I have devised to keep you all occupied over the summer is the Friday night movie night that I talked about last week. We are going to have our first movie night on Friday, July 6 at 7:00pm here at the church. I apologize to those of you who were hoping to start a bit earlier, but this will be the first Friday after school gets out that I will be around. Between the REACH camp down in Ellensburg and the mission trip to the gulf coast, I will be out of town for most of the last half of June (much to my wife’s dismay). All this being said, please make sure to keep everyone going on the mission trip and to the camp in your prayers. For those of you who are not able to join us for these events, have no fear. The youth minister over at Holy Apostles has approached me about a game of Ultimate Frisbee featuring our youth group against his. Being of the competitive nature that I am, I of course accepted. We have yet to set a specific date, but it will be on a Saturday afternoon and the game will be followed by a barbeque and some fellowship. Even if you don’t want to play, we are going to need some serious crowd support. Also, for those of you who are avid music lovers, Creation Fest 2007 will be going on in the gorge July 25-28. For those of you unfamiliar with Creation Fest, it is a gathering of the biggest names in Christian music as well as some dynamic speakers, preachers, and all round good people. Lucky for us it is right here in our back yard. Tickets are $93 for four days of awesome music and fun. If anyone is interested in attending please let me know and I will make arrangements for us to take a group. As always you are all in my prayers and I look forward to all our summer activities with great anticipation.
