Life-teen update (12-03-2006)

First and foremost I want to be the first one to wish all of you a happy new year. Happy new year you say? That is correct, happy new year. This being the first Sunday of Advent, it is officially the beginning of the new liturgical year. So scream it from the rooftops, throw a handful of confetti in the air, and maybe make an advent resolution. Maybe try to find some particular way to grow closer to Christ during this season of preparation for his birth. Or not, it is all up to you. For those of you who have been praying for me to make it back from the Olympic Peninsula safe and sound I can personally confirm that your prayers have been answered. Whether or not this makes me the answer to your prayers remains the subject of some debate, but I was able to dig my poor car out from under two feet of snow, defrost the frozen parking brake with a blowtorch, and fight all the crazies on the road in order to return safely to Wenatchee. This of course means that all youth group activities will resume as scheduled this week (pause for applause). As I am writing this little article, I am also preparing to leave for the national youth minister’s conference. Baring any kind of unforeseen weather or airport problems, I will give all of you a full rundown of my adventures either at youth group or in next weeks bulletin. As Christmas approaches myself and the core team are working feverishly to put together some kind Christmas party. We are not sure yet on the exact date, but we certain that it will be more fun than a sack of hammers. For those of you going on vacation during your holiday break, we are sorry if you miss the party. If any of you have any ideas or thoughts on things that you would like to see or do at said Christmas festivities, please let me know and I will try to incorporate it. Well, that about raps up all the current updates on my life, so I will continue to pray for all of you and see you at youth group. On a parting note, if you have any friends that are not Catholic, or even some that are and do not come to youth group, please feel free to invite them to join us at both our Christmas party and our Sunday life-nights.
