Life-teen update (12-17-2006)

We have now reached that joyous and festive time in the middle of Advent that I have been warning everyone about for several weeks, pink… I mean Gaudete Sunday. We are now entering into the third week of Advent and Christmas is fast approaching. This means that your time to buy Christmas presents is severely limited. If you are like me and you still haven’t even started doing any Christmas shopping yet then Gaudete Sunday also means that you should rejoice that you still have a week in which begin and finish said shopping. Procrastinators can rejoice because it means that they still have a whole week before they need to freak out of their minds. All in all rejoicing is a very enjoyable way to spend ones time. I was able to get my rejoicing started a little bit early by heading up to the high school this past Wednesday. I rejoiced because people came up to me and talked to me without taking any of the pizza that I had brought to share. Now my critics might jump to the conclusion that this was simply because they were wrestlers and they couldn’t eat my greasy, tasty, wholesome pizza without risking a weight gain. This may be true, but I would choose to counter with my argument that I am supposed to be on a diet to lose weight before my wedding (which is at least 3x as much fun as a wrestling meet) and I still managed to munch down two pieces. I prefer to think that they chose to come and talk to me simply because they wanted to and they left the pizza for those who needed a little more encouragement. Over all it was a very enjoyable trip and I even stuck around and attended part of a history class in order to watch a video on immigration (There was a section on the Irish). Next week I will be coming up on Tuesday because by Wednesday many of you will have joined Tim up on the slopes as you rejoice over your Christmas break. Tuesday night is also the night of our Christmas party. The Poirier family has been nice enough to allow us to celebrate the coming of Christ at their house, so if you see them please remember to say thank you. I will have directions for you all at Life-teen. Remember that it is ok and encouraged to bring a friend with you. For those of you who are curious about what we will be doing over Christmas break, I have decided to give you all Christmas Eve and New Years Eve off. This means that you will have to go two whole weeks with out regularly scheduled Life-teen fix, but please feel free to stop by the Church any time over the break and see me in the office. I am always here, except when I am not. We will resume Life-teen on January 7 at our regularly scheduled time and place.
