Life-teen update (12-31-2006)

Greetings, salutations, and a happy New Year to you all. As some of you are reading this you may even be on you way to a New Year’s party somewhere. If this is so, than congratulations. I on the other hand am probably not on my way to a New Year’s party. I am either there, or not there. I find it far to dangerous to drive and read the bulletin at the same time, especially when the roads are icy. It is important at this time for us to remember that the twelve days of Christmas will be coming to an end rather shortly. This means if you were going to get someone a partridge in a pair tree (or something equally ridiculous) then your time is rapidly expiring. Our lovely (and in some cases musical) twelve days of Christmas will be culminating with the feast of Epiphany on January 6. I have always been a big fan of Epiphany, which is traditionally celebrated as the day the three Magi brought their gifts to Jesus. Epiphany gifts are great ideas because you can put off your shopping until the last minute and get things half price with the after Christmas sales. This year I am an even bigger fan then normal because it is the date Katie and I chose to get married. I must admit that I am looking forward to my wedding immensely. Greg will be taking over Life-teen for me when we return on January 7, and he has something planned that I think you will all find very enjoyable. There will also be an Epiphany party here at the church, which I recommend that you all attend. There are, no doubt, more details about the party elsewhere here in the bulletin. Also, there is no Life-teen on January 13 do to Martin Luther King jr. day on the 14. Well, that about does it for what I have to say this week. I recommend you all have an enjoyable day and a very blessed Epiphany and I would ask that you all keep me in my prayers as I prepare for my wedding.
